Eric Gulley founded Everyday English® in 2006 after returning from teaching English abroad. Eric saw that there were many working adults, university students, and other non-native English speakers in need of flexible, high-quality English language instruction in the Columbus, Ohio area. He recognized that university courses are often too expensive and impersonal, free courses frequently lack quality, and most large franchise language centers overcharge and do not employ licensed or qualified instructors. Eric's solution was to begin offering flexible, low-cost, and high-quality instruction to English language learners based upon their individual needs. Eric works closely with the affiliate instructors, who are all highly-qualified and experienced professionals, on assessment, lesson planning, and instruction. Since it's founding in May of 2006, Everyday English® and its affiliates have proudly served clients from all over the world, both in person and online, and continue to meet new clients every day. At Everyday English®, we believe that listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation, and vocabulary should be taught in an authentic and meaningful context, and that only the best instructional methods should be used. We believe that classes should be learner centered, and that learners bring a wealth of valuable experiences to the classroom. Instructors are encouraged to draw upon the learners' experiences, cultural and personal backgrounds, and interests, when planning and conducting lessons.
